Rahel, the daughter of a Swiss bishop, is coping with a high risk pregnancy. One of the identical twins she is carrying has died in utero, and now poses an almost certain threat to its sibling. The doctors are unequivocal about it. They tell Rachel that she should abort the surviving fetus and end her pregnancy.
